After the birth of my daughter, I could not stop photographing her. At some point, around the time she was 2 or 3, I decided I'd like to capture the precious moments of a child's life for other families. I began offering portait sessions to friends and creating custom holiday cards using the portraits I'd taken. My creative self loved the opportunity to look at these beautiful faces and create wonderful, colorful, personalized "works of art" for the families. In later years, this turned into more of a focus on performance photos, as my daughter progressed into the performing arts. In this case, I was able to capture more "moments" for families, but on a different and larger scale. For me, memories that come from an image are so full of life that I can practically recall what it felt like to be there in that exact moment. Being able to deliver a "vehicle" by which others can do the same is one of the reasons why I continue to love this artform.
